Happy Monday friends!
Cheers,
One thing we can all agree on is comfort is a must, especially in the Winter. This is an outfit I usually wear on an a day when the weather is approaching zero ... which is quite often when you live in Canada. Lastly, pants are NOT leggings. Cover your bums!
Happy Monday friends! Cheers,

This is how I Saturday. Shorts, tank and a comfortable cardigan, with a walk in cute little Port Credit. I'll only be in Port Credit for a few more weeks, so I'm taking full advantage of its cuteness while I still can. This Saturday consisted of a walk in Port Credit, shopping at the Kind Exchange and lunch at the Shore Grill & Gratto. I'm happy to say I didn't buy ANY clothes and I ate a salad. That's me being an adult. I sat at the restaurant, read my book, ate my salad and sipped on tea. Peaceful is an understatement! If you're in Port Credit, definitely hit up the Shore Grill & Grotto. My spinach salad was only $8.00, and was absolutely delicious!
Cheers, Every year, when the weather heats up and the sun is out almost every day, I look at my room and want to change everything! I quickly talk myself out of this, but always end up making a few inexpensive revisions. So, what do I do to prepare my bedroom for the summer? Below are my five tips to bring your room into summer mode: Take out your fan Living on the tenth floor is nearly impossible without having a fan or air conditioner. It may not seem exciting, but without my fan I would never sleep. Buy fresh flowers I love to buy myself flowers! It’s a nice treat, and it’s also proven that having fresh flowers in your home makes you happier! I keep flowers on my window sill and it’s so lovely when you wake up to sun and flowers. It's a cheap way to brighten up your bedroom. Summer scented candles I am all for pumpkin spice or cranberry candles, but these scents remind of colder weather. At this time of year, I like to pull out some fresh scents. I can't get enough of Bath and Body Works three-wicked candles. Eucalyptus mint candle is my favourite, with Lavender Vanilla and Beautiful Day coming in a close second and third. These candles last a long time and, if bought when Bath and Body Works is having a sale, they are reasonably priced. Change your bedding I have a white duvet cover and light blue throw pillows. Changing your bedding can be expensive, but buying a new throw or decorative pillows can make old bedding appear new! I love this yellow decorative pillow from the bedding company Parachute Home, and am on the hunt for something similar to brighten my bedroom. Mixing up your wall art I have been working on a gallery wall for MONTHS, and am trying to find pretty pictures that are both artistic and light coloured to brighten up my bedroom. I think changing up wall art is a great way to make your room feel brand new without spending too much money. Etsy is an awesome place to find well-priced and unique prints. I really love the prints below, but I would obviously get my name on it! Check them out here. I’m so thankful the weather is warming up. I can finally pull out my favourite summer dresses and sandals! I’d love to hear more tips on how to make your bedroom, or apartment, summer friendly!
Cheers, After eight long months, I am finally finished school and ready to start my internship. But before all of this begins, I'm going vacation! In less than one week, three of my best friends and myself are heading to beautiful Varadero, Cuba! We'll be staying at the Iberostar Laguna Azul for seven days of sun and FUN. I can finally pull out some of my favourite summer clothes. The weather has been beautiful in Toronto, aside from a week of cold Spring (ish) weather, but it definitely hasn't been shorts weather. Below is a short list of a few outfits I have considered for Cuba. I am a little bit obsessed with rompers. As of today, I have I four packed for Cuba! I've also packed an obscene amount of dresses, a ridiculous amount of high-waisted shorts and a ton of cute tank tops. Overpacking is an understatement, but what am I suppose to do? I change my mind on outfits so frequently, so I need a lot of options. It's better to overpack then undertake, right?
Cheers, Volleyball has been a constant love in my life for almost 15 years. I can’t help but look back on my four years at CBU and smile. I remember getting yelled at in practice, icing my shoulder for hours after a game and writing last-minute essays on the CAPER bus. What I remember most was the time spent with teammates. We became sisters. We still cheer each other on, but now it’s when someone gets a new job or gets engaged. We cried happy tears because someone looked so beautiful walking down the aisle on her wedding day. We helped each other get through the saddest and most difficult time in our lives. This is what family does. I can’t put into words the impact this program has had on my life. Claude and Rob, our passionate and intense Coach’s, devoted themselves to CBU volleyball for an exceedingly long time. I thank them for everything they’ve done for me, my teammates and for Cape Breton volleyball. Because of budget cuts, young female athletes will not get to experience the fulfilling program that was CBU volleyball. It’s angering, disheartening and unfair to all these athletes. Another volleyball program cut will be detrimental to the landscape of volleyball in Nova Scotia. We need to fight for our sport.
CBU has made me strong, fierce and proud. Cape Breton is in my blood and I am forever a CAPER! For more insight to this story, please read a letter-to-the-editor written by my Rob Young, assistant coach of CBU volleyball for more than 15 years, about why he believes the CBU volleyball dream is gone. He's a true supporter of Cape Breton volleyball, an amazing coach and a great friend! Who doesn't love Facebook? It's internship season at Humber! You can feel stress when you walk into the classroom. This is not simply because we're in hardcore search mode, but because we ALL need to find work appropriate clothing. You can't wear yoga pants to a corporate office ... right? I've created this collage as a way for me to stay on track with shopping. Maybe if I have a list of things I need, I'll stop buying sweat pants and baggy t-shirts. I am trying to purchase items that can be worn numerous ways, like a simple pair of black dress pants, a stripped shirt and classic blazers. I'm hoping this will allow me to spend the least amount of money and create the MOST amount of outfits. My go-to places to shop for basics include Gap, Old Navy and Dynamite. I found a green dress, similar to the one above, at Dynamite (see it here). I'm definitely going shopping soon to find work appropriate clothing. I'm sure I can convince a few girls in class to come with me! Cheers, I've been so busy with school that I've been neglecting my blog. After a stressful week, I came to realize my blog wasn't just a passtime but it was a journal, a diary, a way for me to write without worry of getting graded. I enjoy this, so I vow to find time between all the press releases and communication plans, to curate posts. I joined Bloglovin, a great site that allows people to follow multiple blogs and go back into the archives to find your favourite posts. Below is a screen shot of my Bloglovin page. See how there are no followers ... why don't you help me out and follow my blog! It's so simple. Just click the button below! Below is a screen shot of Bloglovin. The more blogs you follow, the more posts you'll see. Cheers, While some friends spent their Reading Week in Cuba or Florida, I decided to head home to Halifax. I love this city, but I'm five million per cent done with snow and cold. About four feet of snow has landed in my front yard. My black winter coat ripped, so I knew I had to find another at a STUDENT price if I was going to snowy Halifax for a week. I found this warm and cozy jacket at Sirens (yes ... SIRENS!) for $70.00. Below is a typical Bhreagh winter outfit - leggings, combat boots, plaid shirt, scarf and a beanie. Most days I simply switch up the plaid for a tunic or long sweater. Here's to dreaming of warmer weather! Cheers, I loathe winter. I should be use to this cold, but after 25 snowy, bone-chilling and long winters, I am ready to move somewhere warm for the rest of my life! What helps me get through the cold weather? Plaid, beanies, winter boots and my unbelievably warm, and insanely expensive, Canada Goose jacket. It should be noted that I purchased my Canada Goose jacket four years ago, and while it hurt to spend an obscene amount of money on a JACKET, I do NOT regret that purchase. I am a student. I walk, not far ... BUT I WALK! When it's -20 degrees and your eye lids feel like they're going to freeze OPEN, you want to be warm. Below are two outfit choices I swear by. My plaid shirt becomes a staple during the frigid winter and my new Sorel boots keep my toes warm while trekking through meters ( ... maybe that's an exaggeration) of snow. Check out the items above on Polyvore, or click here. Stay warm, my friends! Cheers, |
